Before we get started, this card is a gem, especially the main card. To list off the exciting fighters on display tonight; Booby Green, Kevin Holland, Greg Hardy, Bryce Mitchell, Andre Fili, Uriah Hall and Anderson Silva…
I don’t mean to underestimate the coverage of the card at hand but i would call it a hidden gem. Every fight will be action packed with fan favourites, you can’t ask for much more.
I’ll will put a focus on two fights and give a prediction on how those fights will end.
Kevin Holland vs Charlie Ontiveros
Kevin Holland has looked spectacular recently. He is honing his striking whilst getting increasingly entertaining as he ‘talks’ during the fight. Not necessarily trash talk, but general, comedic observations during the fight.
Holland has also turned into a power puncher. The increased power on his punches has come from his technical improvements as Joaquin Buckley found out…
The karate expert is facing UFC debutante, Charlie ‘The American Bad Boy’ Ontiveros.
Ontiveros is coming into the UFC with a 11-6 record. He poses a threat on the feet as his last 3 wins have been via KO. Interestingly, he has a karate background, similar to Holland.
For this reason, I have to go with a Holland victory, Kevin is the more experienced UFC fighter with a higher level of karate.
Expect a crazy knockout.
Uriah Hall vs Anderson Silva
The main event, two powerful strikers. One who made it to the top and one who is still trying. The spider vs prime time. Silva vs Hall.
Uriah Hall has only lost to top level middleweights. Paulo Costa, Derek Brunson, Robert Whittaker. In fact, I would go as far to say he hasn’t beaten a high ranking middleweight in the UFC all together.
So why is this fight against Anderson Silva going to be different?
The most important factor for Silva is his age. He is 45, no longer at peak physical performance he may struggle to keep up with the younger, more powerful Uriah Hall; despite having a greater level of technical striking.
Uriah Hall also does not show mercy, he is a ruthless striker and he will not take it easy on the Brazilian veteran.
Honestly, I hope the fight is closer than I expect it to be, but a Uriah Hall TKO within 3 rounds is how I see this fight ending.
